Arugula Grapes Green Smoothie

Hi Chuggers!

How have you been doing lately ? 🙂

I have been travelling and really busy with some work commitments… I truly apologise for the lack of updates…

If you haven’t done so, do follow me on Instagram where I post my updates / blends more frequently… 😀

Having such a hectic lifestyle is pretty tiring… Nevertheless, I try my best to make time for outdoor runs and workouts at the gym. Exercises keep me sane!!!

Also, I keep my blends simple so I can still Chug my Greens regularly!

This one has been one of my favourites recently… mainly because it’s super quick to prepare 😉

1 x Apple

1 x Orange (juiced)

1  x Medjool Date (seeded)

Approx 30 x seedless White Grapes

2 1/2 cups x Arugula leaves

1 cup x Water

-Serves approx 4 cups-

I have been experimenting with Arugula leaves recently and it’s been really good so far! I often encourage fellow chuggers to rotate their greens so they can have a wider variety of nutrients.

Arugula leaves contain high levels of Iron and Copper, making it a great substitute for Spinach. They also contain various phytochemicals which contribute to their antioxidant properties. Interestingly, they were used by the ancient Romans as an aphrodisiac  😉

Having said that, they have a unique bitter, peppery after taste. Some people might not be used to it, especially if the fruits that were used weren’t too strong tasting. I’m a big fan of Arugula salad so I am really delighted with this change of taste in my smoothies!

This drink is definitely a great refresher (albeit the acquired Arugula taste)! Now that the weather is turning warm and humid again (Yes! Singapore was rather cooling for a good couple of weeks!), I crave for thirst-quenching, summer drinks all the time. And most importantly, due to the ease of preparation and availability of these fruits, this drink has become one of my favourite quick Go-Tos! It would be best for beginners and those rushing for work in the mornings 🙂

On a side note, I am very glad that I started this blog in 2013 and I am extremely thankful for gaining so many followers and receiving many of your kind comments…

Sorry that I’m a little late with my New Year greetings to all of you…

♥ I hope 2013 has treated you well…….

I wish you a healthy, blissful 2014. May it be filled with positivity and happiness always!

♥ Let’s continue to Chug more Greens and CHEERS to a better year ahead!

Til then,

Chug it!
